The Goo Goo Dolls song Slide was written by Johnny Rzeznik and released as a single in November 1998.
Johhny Rzeznik, in an interview on VH1 storytellers in 2002, said the song was about a teenage girl brought up in a Catholic environment who becomes pregnant.
The song reached number one in the American Billboard chart.
