ONE NIGHT ONLY INTERVIEW

From the feature One Night Only

One Night Only

If you haven’t heard of One Night Only yet there is a good chance you will very shortly.

The Helmsley based indie upstarts maybe barely old enough to drink, vote or drive but they certainly seem to be making a name for themselves in the music world.

Their debut single ‘You And Me’ has already received an immense amount of interest and if that’s not enough the bands song ‘Just For Tonight’ was recently featured as the theme tune for E4’s Nearly Famous. Their debut album ‘Started A Fire’ is due out February 4th produced by world renowned music producer Steve Lillywhite who produced the first few albums for U2.

It all began about four years ago in the rural town of Hemsley North Yorkshire – with a shared love of music – the school friends decided to start up a band.

After 18 months of touring the band were beginning to establish themselves and word of the indie-sounding hopefuls spread to the south. Lead vocals and guitarist George Craig explains: “It’s constantly been developing, we got a keyboard player about two years ago and that was probably the most defining change that we had. It was only till about a year ago that we started doing things properly and then we started getting a lot of radio play.”

Not long after One Night Only were snapped up by Vertigo Records, George explains how they found the task of choosing a record company quite simple, “It just seemed obvious to us that we wanted to sign with the people who we thought cared most about our music and not just signing the latest craze.”
