If there is an error text showing : "could not find main class Quicktimeplayer": PC XP
Unfortunately, the MultiPlayer installer will only work if QuickTime has already been installed and you've rebooted your PC.
Please try the following:
1. Remove any existing version of the MultiPlayer (using add/remove programs).
2. Install QuickTime (if it isn't already installed).
3. Reboot your PC.
4. (Re)install the MultiPlayer.
You can download QuickTime 7.2 for Windows here.
MultPlayer displays splash screen, then quits: PC XP
MP showing splash screen (and possibly the MP window, briefly), but not starting.
Reasons:
1. Bug in QuickTime for Java
Resolution:
Make sure that screen resolution is at least 1024 x 768
2. This can happen if the user running the MultiPlayer has limited privileges and is not allowed to make changes inside the "Program Files" directory. Under Windows XP, there are two types of user accounts: "computer administrator" and "limited" and admin access may be required to run the MultiPlayer.
MP crashes if you use the zoom buttons or click on the video panel: PC XP
Reason:
Bug in QuickTime for Java
Resolution:
Don't use the zoom buttons or click on the video panel.
MultiPlayer fails to launch: PC XP
The Multiplayer may also have failed to quit previously.
Hold down "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" to get the Task Manager; then hit the "Processes" tab along the top and look for multiplayer.exe and click "End Process".
This usually clears the confusion and enables the MultiPlayer to be started again.
If the MultiPlayer is not running in the Task Manager, failing to launch could be a problem with Firewall software settings. Try turning this off to confirm if it is causing the problem and before adjusting the settings.
If there is an error text showing: "invalid mulitplayer smhtp file please download again" when playing/installing MP video file: All Platforms
We are currently seeing a small but very significent number of users finding that when the MultiPlayer track is downloaded and played, the error "invalid mulitplayer smhtp file please download again" message appears.
Occasionally the MultiPlayer Video folder is not created, sometimes if the MP is re-installed or may be moved to a new location etc. Please be aware that without this folderin this location, MultiPlayer tracks can not be installed and played; users will see error "invalid mulitplayer smhtp file please download again" message appears.
Please create 'MultiPlayer Video' folder in correct location:
PC XP: My Documents/My Music
Mac OS X: Users/Music
Please then locate original downloaded .smhtp file and re-install into your MultiPlayer Video Folder by double-clicking on it to play.
Also, please make sure that you have a reliable internet connection when you first install a MultiPlayer track that you have downloaded, as any error in this install process will affect playback of the video.
