BACK in 1994 WET WET WET was the biggest band in the UK. They whizzed around the world selling out arenas, and secured their place in history with a legendary 15 weeks at number one with ‘Love Is All Around’.

The slightest mention of Marti Pellow left women weak at the knees and relentlessly flicking the repeat button for another round of ‘Love Is All Around.’ It comes with little doubt that WET WET WET were the sound of the early 90’s.

Ten years on and WET WET WET are back with a brand new album - broken friendships have been healed and sealed through the magic of songwriting, as Marti explains: “We had a sabbatical away from each other where we did some living. Our songwriting had changed a huge amount; we were rediscovering one another once again through friendship.  The domino effect of that was that we started making music again.”

After self-releasing their new album ‘Timeless’ on Dry Records, it seems as though the chart-topping foursome are setting themselves up for a brand new era as WET WET WET.

In an exclusive chat with SMHTP, frontman Marti Pellow and bass player Graeme Clark, talk about everything from their “rollercoaster of a ride” since their reunion in 2004, to the massive change in today’s music business that consequently influenced the creation of their own label.
