KATE NASH DRUMMER INTERVIEW
POP princess Kate Nash was undoubtedly the sound of 2007. The 20-year-old MySpace star rapidly nudged her rivals into the shadows when her debut album Made of Bricks topped the charts. The songbird was instantly saddled with the Lily Allen friend tag although she quietly rejected these reports, “I don’t know her really, she just put me in her top friends sometime last year,” Kate explained to SMHTP.
Just before her massive explosion onto the music scene SMHTP exclusively interviewed Miss Nash at the Great Escape Music Festival. Seven months down the line we thought it was about time to get in on all the goss and to discover just how things have changed for the singer-songwriter and her crew.
During her UK tour we exclusively caught up with Miss Nash’s drummer Elliot Andrews (ex-BIMM student) to find out more.
“We’ve been performing at bigger venues than we’ve ever performed before. We’ve stepped up a lot – we’ve got a bigger crew now, as well as a sleeper bus, a production manager, lighting and we’ve got security with us as well,” explained Elliot to SMHTP.
And that’s not all he also let us in on a few sneaky song writing secrets as well, “Kate’s been spending a lot of time on the bus writing. She takes her laptop out with her and her notebooks. I think she’s got four more new songs that she’s been messing around with.”
