Olivia Classey

Olivia is the resident hack at SMHTP although she insists that she doesn’t fit into the Fleet Street stereotype of a boozy, over-worked, underpaid journalist. Most people refer to Olivia as Livvy or Livs. She admits that she feels a little alarmed when folks call her by her full name because she thinks she’s about to get told off. Her areas of expertise are varied to say the least, after gaining a post-graduate NCTJ diploma in magazine journalism Livvy set up camp working as the Chief Features Writer for a regional woman’s glossy called TFT. She was responsible for all the main areas of editorial content and covered everything from fashion to celebrity gossip and even motoring reviews. Livvy then decided she wanted to make a step up the ladder and headed for the bright lights of London as a freelance writer. Since then she has contributed to a number of national titles including Grazia, The Daily Star, London Lite, FHM and Bliss magazine. Livvy also has a love of poetry and to date she has had two poems published in books.

At SMHTP Livvy has been part of the team that heads out to film and interview the artists and bands for the site. She finds the ‘wonderful world of music journalism’ very exciting. Which is just as well as there’s never a dull moment in the SMHTP office!
