Mark

As the Managing Director at SMHTP Mark Flannery is the driving force behind the whole SMHTP project.

Mark started his career at the highly renowned Windmill Lane Studios Dublin where he worked along side one of the world’s finest music producers and writers Mutt Lange on the Def Leppard (Hysteria) album. Mark says “ I learnt so much from Mutt, his attention to detail and amazing production skills are still a  massive influence on me even today”. Mark also worked with U2, Clannad  and the Fury brothers in Ireland.

With Hysteria finished, Mutt invited Mark to work at London’s Battery studios, where he added even more international artists, (Jimmy Ruffin, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, and Black Sabbath) to his already impressive CV. As a freelance engineer and producer, Mark also worked with Lisa Stansfield, Boy George, Depeche Mode (Violator), Lee Scratch Perry and Yes.

Mark continues to write, produce and mix for various bands and develop talent (like The Crave) with his own label Panic room productions. Look out for new artist Paul Steels album which Mark has productions on. He’s also found time to be the Head of Song Writing at the world-famous Brighton Institute of Modern Music for the last 4 years and is on the Board for the Brighton Music Network.

Now Mark is concentrating all his efforts on the mighty SMHTP "SMHTP is totally unique and a great way to showcase some of the worlds greatest talents and give people the opportunity to learn and interact with them". Mark has big plans for SMHTP, with his energy, enthusiasm and skills this website is only just the beginning.
