GLORIA CYCLES
GLORIA Cycles have gone it alone, from getting a record deal, to writing and recording their first album; the four-piece indie rock-band have achieved all without the help of a manager. SMHTP caught up with Gloria Cycles to find out exactly what the secret is to their sudden success.
After signing to A&G Records the addictive Gloria Cycles have got a multitude of fans chasing their tracks. The Brighton based foursome have supported Tilly &Wall, The Aliens and The Hours this year, and critics have already described their eccentric sound as, “perfect pop.”
The original line up of Gloria Cycles was quite different to what it is today - consisting of Kenny, Julian, Jenny and Jack.
Front man Kenny explains: “When Gillian and I first started putting the band together it was a whole different line up. We were trying to put the group together with a lot of old friends of mine who were from Toploader and Turin Brakes, but it didn’t work because everybody was too busy.”
Their funky sound drifts across different genres from scar to indie rock and then on to soothing harmonic. “Sounds like something quite unique” some might say? Watch this space…
